With each passing day we loose footing on many of the founding principals that this nation was built upon, and few seem to take notice with even fewer willing to do something about it. Once we were a mighty nation of progressive people, a breeding ground for thinkers, doers, inventors and leaders... but looking around today makes you wonder if those days have all but gone by the wayside.
What many people fail to realize is that America is actually a very young nation. We are a world superpower yes, but the world in which we live dangles precariously by an ever thinning thread. We are in the absolute vortex of a crazy world that increasingly sees America as a target and a threat. We used be a nation that was an icon of global integrity, but more and more we are looked at as the enemy.
If you really want to get into something scary, you'll have to look into where the US is situated on a more global scale. Increasingly we are viewed as prime a candidate for attack by Arab and Asian nations, with the latter of the two being fully capable of domination by sheer numbers alone. If you don't believe me, do some research of your own... you'll find it frightening to say the least.
Add in a host of other factors like pollution, global warming, and our "false economy" that struggles for survival, and the plot thickens into a rich concoction seemingly hell bent on self destruction. Perhaps that is why alcoholism and drug use (both recreational and prescription) are on the rise?
To sums things up, the world that we know seems to be in a horrible state of disrepair. The majority of the population seems far more concerned with who will be the next "American Idol" than who will be the next President. We need to make some serious changes. It begins with me, it begins with you... it is up to every individual to to take a hand in making some progress. After all, if we don't... who will?
